[About] vistlip

I know I should have made this post before the band celebrate its 4th anniversary. But, it’s better late than never (^^). And here’s some short review about their history that I manage to get from Wikipedia and some fans blog.

The story started when Tomo (vocal), Rui (bass), and Yuh (guitar) were thinking to made a new band. Then they contacted Umi (guitar) to join them. At first, Umi was uncertain though the three has shown “Edy” to him. Even so, the three were very confidence that Umi would join them in the end. The confidence become reality, Umi joined them and also brought Tohya (drums). The complete member was finally formed on July 7th, 2007.

The members:
  • Tomo (13/1/1986) – vocal, is the most usual looking member (XD).
  • Rui (15/10/1985) – bass, is the most good looking member (:3).
  • Umi (20/7/1983) – guitar, leader, big brother, is the most scary looking member (^3^).
  • Yuh (28/7/1983) – guitar, is the most strange looking member (XD).
  • Tohya (3/1/1986) – drums, is the most cheerful member (^^).

Yuh has explained about the origin of the name, “vistlip”. It’s a combination from “vista” and “lip”. I guess the meaning is “beautiful words from the lip”? (XD). Yuh also has said it firmly that the name must write in lower caps. If not then it won’t suit with the combination. The “t” is the separator between the two words. Oh my, Yuh is being so artistic with the name just like with his signature. At “Gather to the Theater” backstage documentary, Yuh has shown his signature that can be read “yuh” upside down. He said, “Sugoi ne?” and I was agreeing with him, “Yes, it’s super sugoi!” (XD).

Enough, with my babbling, here is their list of discography (as can also be seen on Wikipedia).

On November 2010, a terrible accident happened while the band was driving  on the street. The accident caused severe injuries to the member, but the big lost of their manager won’t ever be forgotten. Due to the accident, the manager has passed away. Since then, the band decided to take a hiatus and not informing when they would be coming back.

On February 2011, pleasant news came from them. They’re saying that everyone is doing fine and the five of them will be coming back though not sure when (^^).

Not long after the announcement, exciting news came that they will have a fan club member special live on March 17th, 2011. The live then continued with another announcement of new single release, SINDRA, on June 1st, 2011. SINDRA finally mark their coming back to the musical scene.

At the live on July 7th, 2011, vistlip made announcement to release a live DVD on October and a new album on December. I can only cheers happily with the news. They have surely coming back!

My first encounter with this energetic and crazy band was when I surfing for new bands to listen. I crossed their video, “Strawberry Butterfly” and become really like it. Then I watch, “Ozone” and finally thought they’re worth it to listen. Their single, “Hameln” made me become fonder with the band.
Hameln was released on the same date with their 3rd anniversary, and the video really suit the celebration. From the video and the music, I can feel a bright future for this band. The accident was really a shocked and along with the hiatus, the word of worry quickly came to me.

Thank God the shining light finally comes. Thank God! They are finally come back! Wasshoi!! ^O^ though they are looking different right now. They’re looking more mature and more quiet, even Tohya! I can’t believe that cheerful and always goofing around person can be so quiet! I guess the accident still left the mark for them. BUT! I hope they will become the usual them after SINDRA and the live. May the voice of the fans heal them and support them. Hope they know how the fans missed and longing them so damn bad. May they can walk to the light with head held high. We’re here for you guys! I’m here for you (:3).

I know vistlip is still a “young” band, both on history and also in the age of the member (^^). But, I believe their future will be shining brightly. They are on the right track. Their live was also amazing! So far I’ve only watched, “Gather to the Theater” and I could feel the excitement and energy that flowing during the live. They are so amazing and energetic! They’ve played fast and rock songs on and on without resting! SUGOI!!!

Too bad they’re lacking fan service between members (XD). Well, that’s understandable since Tomo’s pair is Tohya and he was way at the back. Tomo can’t “touch” Umi since Umi often ran away when Tomo starts his move (XD). Even so, I still can feel the “family” bond between them. Umi as the leader and also the big brother will take care of them. I believe he can.

I have one question that still hasn’t found an answer, how can Umi become the leader since Tomo, Yuh, and Rui are the first member? But I think the position is deservedly for Umi because he has this “big brother” aura. Maybe that’s also the reason the other choose him as their leader (:3).

Good luck on your way, vistlip. Let’s walk to the light together! ^3^
